No thanks are given to him for caring about the lives of hundreds of men, only for caring about the death of one man. But for him, that's enough. He ends where he begins, and the war machine continues on.

There are times he looks in the tin to get a glimpse of the picture, but is that just because he needed to every now and again take a peek at what is waiting for him. This part of the movie gave me chills just bunch of mixed up emotions, I didn't know what to feel.
